Standards-Based Assessment
The identification and assessment of LeadBased Paint (LBP) involves not only a visual inspection but laboratory analysis of bulk materials as well as instant lead analysis utilizing an XRay fluorescence (XRF) spectrum analyzer. All of our lead assessments, sample collection and analyses are performed in accordance with the latest regulations established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Department of Environmental Protection and the Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA).
Lead Assessments, Sampling and Analysis
Sampling for lead hazards includes the following:
- Sampling of Bulk Materials – Bulk material analyses are performed to identify existence of lead throughout a facility
- Waste Characterization Analysis (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) – Waste characterization analysis is an integral part of any construction or renovation project involving leadbased paint and other lead containing products as the waste resulting from said projects must be disposed of in accordance with current regulations.
- Surface Wipe Sampling – Surface wipes is utilized to determine the extent of contamination as well as the likelihood and extent of possible exposure risks to building occupants.
- XRay Fluorescence (XRF) Spectrum Analysis – and XRF analyses are performed to identify existence of lead throughout a facility.
- Air Sampling – Air sampling is utilized to determine the extent of contamination as well as the likelihood and extent of possible exposure risks to building occupants.
LeadBased Paint is the most commonly found lead hazards. Lead has been a known potential health hazard for many years with numerous regulations, laws governing worker health protection in general industry as well as environmental contamination resulting from lead containing waste. As such, assessing potential lead hazards is very important for every building owner, property manager or other property operator. When approaching any project, we always keep our client’s liability concerns in mind, as this is an extremely sensitive area when dealing with environmental issues and hazardous waste.
Comprehensive Analysis
As with other contaminants, there are several factors that affect the possibility of exposure to lead; these factors include the location, physical condition of the material, type of area in which lead was identified and the area occupancy. Enviro Pro UnLTD Corp. takes all of these factors into considerations to provide the best possible course of action depending our client’s budget and scheduling requirements as well as the unique circumstances of each project.
